The Battle Against Hair Loss

You look in the mirror. You see that your hairline is receding. You inspect the top of your head. You realize that your hair is thinning. You panic. What can be done?

Once you’ve done your research, you will no doubt realize that the only true solution for hair loss is getting a hair transplant. Nothing does more to rejuvenate your look than a full head of healthy-looking hair. At the Nashville Hair Doctor, we are here to tell you that among your different hair restoration options, the NeoGraft hair transplant technology is the best one.

That’s because we know what’s important to you. You are looking for good hair growth results, but you want to be discreet. You don’t want signs of any procedure to be visible, and you don’t want to miss a lot of work while you’re recovering. You’d also like for the procedure itself to be virtually pain- and hassle-free.

A NeoGraft hair transplant does all those things, and more.

How Does NeoGraft Work? A Look at FUE Hair Transplantation

The NeoGraft Automated Hair Transplantation system consists of a hand-held device that uses pneumatic pressure to extract individual grafts of hair from the “donor” area. A graft typically contains several hair follicles, and the donor area is the part of your scalp where hair growth is thick. Once the hair grafts are extracted, they are artfully implanted in the balding areas of your scalp with a technique akin to a pinprick.

The technical term for this method of hair transplantation – we like to call it hair restoration – is Follicular Unit Extraction or FUE. The hair is extracted in the smallest possible increments, one “follicular unit” at a time. The FUE  technology was originally developed in Europe, and the device we use today is in its 4th generation. It has become extremely popular over the last decade because it doesn’t require surgery, causes no scarring, and results in a completely natural look. Your typical recovery from FUE lasts just a few days, with some patients returning to work the very next day.

What Happens During Your Hair Transplant Procedure

Each hair transplant is different, but you can get a good idea of what it’s like by listening to former patients. David Bernard is a Nashville Hair Doctor patient who had his NeoGraft hair transplant in July 2018. Six months after his procedure he was interviewed on the Nashville Today Show.

During an FUE hair transplant procedure, the doctor or technician identifies the hair follicles on the back of your head best suited for transplantation, and then uses the NeoGraft device to extract individual hair grafts. In the next step, the extracted hair grafts are carefully reinserted into the previously marked recipient sites, making sure proper angle and orientation are preserved for an aesthetically pleasing result. These steps are repeated until all the recipient areas are treated. David recalls his one-day procedure as easy and pain-free, being able to watch TV most of the time.

At the end of the procedure, your scalp will be covered in hundreds of small red dots where the hair follicles have been inserted. Some swelling may occur, and the incisions may take up to a week to fully heal. However, they are very small and pose no risk of scarring and most patients resume their regular activities within 1-2 days. “It’s very important to follow all the post-op instructions to get good results,” says David. He also credits the use of PRP injections for his excellent post-op hair growth. To learn more about his experience, read The Secret to Great Hair Transplant Results on the Hair Doctor blog.

The Use of PRP and HypoThermosol in Hair Restoration

You may have heard of PRP injections to promote faster healing in sports injuries. PRP stands for platelet rich plasma which is extracted from your own blood, condensed with a centrifuge, and then injected back into it. A higher concentration of these blood cells can increase their healing power. Most recently, PRP has been found to speed up hair growth in hair restoration procedures.

It supplies important nutrients to the extracted hair grafts awaiting transplantation.  Its use in hair restoration is the latest innovative treatment we are excited about at Nashville Hair Doctor. We’ve already seen its potential when using it on a select number of patients.

When discussing your hair transplant goals during your personal consultation, make sure you ask us about PRP and HypoThermosal!

The Advantages of NeoGraft Hair Restoration

Nashville hair doctor patient review

If  you want to regrow your own hair in a natural way that gives you many options of how to wear it, a NeoGraft hair transplant  is the way forward. At the Nashville Hair Doctor, we are confident that when you see the results, your only regret will be that you have waited this long!

Specifically, here are the major advantages of NeoGraft over other transplants:

  1. No linear scar – the tiny incisions made by the NeoGraft device to extract and insert follicles need no stitches or staples to heal, unlike the large incision made to remove a strip of hair from the back of your head with the aptly named strip method.
  2. Minimally-invasive procedure – Since no pieces of scalp have to be transplanted, a NeoGraft hair transplant is much less-invasive and can be completed in just a few hours. It also carries much lower risk and gives you less discomfort – both during and after the treatment.
  3. Excellent and affordable results – your newly grafted hair will start growing naturally, allowing you to wear your hair short or long afterwards. Since the NeoGraft procedure requires no general anesthesia, the cost is affordable compared to more invasive hair restoration methods. We also offer 12-month interest-free financing options.

A Different Kind of Hair Transplant: Designer Beards

picture of bearded man and possible candidate for beard transplant or hair transplantThe most obvious area to transplant your hair to is the top of your head. That is where most men experience thinning hair or hair loss. Restoring hair to the crown of your head immediately gives you a younger look.

But hair restoration does not have to be confined to areas where you have experienced hair loss. The beauty of the NeoGraft technology is that it can be used to insert hair follicles to any part of your skin. Think eyelashes, eyebrows, even chest hair!

In recent years as beards have become more fashionable, beard transplants have become very popular. Even if it’s just a covering of a “designer stubble” you are after, a facial hair transplant can make sure that your beard doesn’t look patchy. It can also help cover up skin problems like acne scars.
