Find out if you’re a good candidate for a beard transplant. This is super simple. Just upload your picture(s) for a free quote, and our NeoGraft consultant will prepare a quote for you. You should include pictures for both your facial hair and scalp, as the availability of hair in the donor area will determine if you’re a good candidate.

  2. On the day of your procedure, you will be given a mild sedative and/or local anesthetic to prepare for the extraction of the donor hair from your scalp. The donor area is typically at the back of the head where the hair is resistant to male pattern baldness. This ensures that the donor area will not thin out too much and that the new beard growth will be permanent.
  3. After all the follicles are extracted using a wand with pneumatic pressure, they are planted into the previously identified facial area. This is where the technician’s skill comes in. The correct density and angle of the transplanted hair will ensure a completely natural-looking beard.

Recovery After Beard Transplant

The recovery after a beard transplant is fast. It takes one or at most two days to get back to your normal activities. There is really not much to recover from as the procedure is virtually pain-free and easy. From a physical standpoint, you could schedule your beard transplant on a Friday and be back in the office on Monday without missing a beat.

Many of our patients take about a week off from work. This will allow the small incision (rather like pinpricks) in the donor area of your scalp to completely scab over and heal. Once this happens, they will be virtually undetectable.

Your surgeon will give you a set of instructions for post-op hair and facial care to ensure the best results.

After that, it’s just a matter of time to wait for your beard to grow. After a few weeks, the hair will begin to fall out – do not be alarmed. It’s a normal part of the growth cycle. It can then begin to grow in again at the normal rate, giving you a beautiful and permanent new beard!
